FAQs
The Frequently Asked Questions lists are a collection of questions often asked by FramBroadband customers. They aim to be a useful reference for experienced users as well as to reduce Frequently Asked Questions from novices.

Q. I'm in your area - can you visit me for a demonstration?
A. Certainly! We can bring a WiFi enabled laptop to your premises or house - contact us and we'll arrange a visit.

Q. Why has nobody in Framlingham done this before?
A. The radio frequencies used by WiFi were only deregulated in 2002/3 so WiFi didn't really exist in the UK until then.

Q. How fast is Wi-Fi?
A. Current subscriptions plans let you connect to the Internet at least 10 to 20 times faster than a 56kbps modem or 8 to 16 times faster than a 64kbps ISDN connection. At the moment, the maximum possible speed is 10 to 12Mbps.

Q. Will I be charged by the minute or by the hour for the time I spend online?
A. No. You will have permanent access for a fixed charge. In other words, it will not matter how long you spend online (or even if you are on line all the time) - the price will remain the same.

Q. I live at number 99 X Street - will your service reach this far?
A. If you have a laptop or PC with wireless enabled, then see if "FramBroadband" is listed in "Available Wireless Networks". If it is, then it's likely you can connect. If not, please call us and we will be happy to arrange a site visit for a more detailed survey.

Q. What happens if I can't see an aerial from my property?
A. You may still be able to access the service with an external antenna installation. Please call us on 01728 726507 for more information.
